Women’s empowerment is a grossly underutilized economic development resource in East Africa and on a global scale. The Grumeti Fund works with local partners in more than 20 villages throughout the western Serengeti to implement educational empowerment events, provide scholarship support and mentorship programs and distribute reusable menstrual pads to young women. This painting was designed to emphasize the potential that lies in the empowerment of young women in the Serengeti and abroad and to promote gender equality around the globe.
